Supervision, Teaching, & Training
2017-present Instructor and coordinator: Provide graduate level continuing education units and training to WSU faculty and staff across multiple departments regarding intersections of high risk health behaviors, academic success, efficacious harm reduction and behavior change interventions.
Instructor & supervisor: Coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of a department-wide employee training and professional development plan, specifically around building capacity to develop and implement evidence- based harm reduction initiatives. Supervision: Provide supervision, research project oversight, program oversight to WSU Health Promotion Specialists and Graduate Assistants across multiple interrelated areas of focus: Mental health & suicide prevention, violence prevention,
substance abuse prevention.
Coordination: With the WSU Health and Wellness staff and key campus stakeholders to implement a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to health promotion and harm reduction, with initiatives across the public health socio- ecological model.
2003-present Instructor: Teach annual training course for doctoral interns & post-doctoral staff on the theoretical and empirical understanding of effective education strategies for adolescent and young adult populations regarding the intersections of academic success, high risk behaviors, protective factors and resiliency, mental health concerns, and cultural contexts. 2003-2016 Instructor & supervisor: Teach and supervise a year-long practicum class on theoretical and empirical understanding of effective educational strategies for adolescent & young adult populations to graduate assistants from multiple disciplines (education, criminal justice, counseling and clinical psychology). Topics include the intersections of academic success, high risk behaviors, protective factors and resiliency, mental health concerns, and cultural contexts. Includes
in-class lecture, observation of graduate assistant facilitation of undergraduate student groups and classes, and performance evaluation/feedback. Washington State University, Counseling and Psychological Services.

(education, criminal justice, sociology, counseling and clinical psychology_. Instruction on curriculum implementation & specialized teaching strategies for class with all in-coming first year students (~4,800) to address high risk behaviors (i.e. substance use, sexual violence, sexual consent and decision making), student transition to university, academic success and retention.
