Doors & Windows
Gilda: I didn’t get that knowledge until I went into drug recovery.
Um, I found when I went into recovery [that] was so interesting for me. To understand that was just like a whole door opening for me. I loved recovery.... So maybe there is, ah, something good about addiction. Because I did – sought it out and I pounded those doors and made myself get up and go seek these avenues. ‘Cause it’s real hard when you’re sick. Patricia: (First thoughts in response to the narrative) Gilda... You've been going through doors your whole life. |
Interpretations: These are ekphrasic mixed-media works based on participant narratives from the WSU Women & Meth Project. The works focus on Gilda (participant), her family & friends, dialog, and the "doors and windows" of their relationships.
