Sabbatical Abroad
1999 - 2001 Study of culture, German language, art, and social justice issues in Austria with extensive travel throughout Europe. Implemented multiple international and cross-cultural arts inquiry and education projects utilizing a variety of learning
modalities including visual art, performance art, written word, installations, and workshops.

2001 Commissioned by the Women’s Ministry of the City of Villach, Austria to co-design and implement a week long art show and
community arts workshop. International day against violence against women and children event. Featured artist, curator, and
speaker at exhibition opening in city hall. Villach, Austria.
2001 Designed and coordinated From Western with love project. International artwork exchange between students at Western
Washington University, U.S. and the city of Villach, Austria. Works featured at City Hall gallery and exhibition opening.
2001 Designed and Instructed. In einer anderen Stimme (trans. In another voice). Interpretive theater and open studio class for
community women to create works for International Day against Violence against Women event. Installation of works in City Hall, Villach, Austria.
